The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the country’s national telecommunications regulator, has officially authorized local mobile network operators to commercially launch 5G services nationwide. The authorization follows the successful completion of the 5G spectrum auction in March 2026, where a total of 480 MHz of spectrum across multiple frequency bands was allocated to three major mobile operators. Authorized operators have initiated phased 5G network deployment, with commercial services already available in 22 major cities across Pakistan.
